The curbside is one of the most demanded and intensively used spaces in the city, accommodating a constantly increasing number of uses (not only L/U activities but also public transport, parking, etc.). The management of these spaces must, therefore evolve towards a flexible and dynamic one. UNCHAIN will develop an efficient and flexible curbside management tool that will integrate real-time monitoring features and big data analytics to better understand curbside usage. This service will also implement demand modelling algorithms together with demand forecasting models to efficiently manage these spaces. Likewise, optimisation and dynamic (and/or static) curbside management systems will be developed to support local authorities in the efficient allocation of available space to adapt to different uses and users and to define enforcement, monitoring, and pricing models accordingly.
