UNCHAIN will develop a user-centric tool to support urban planners to better understand the freight dynamics within the city and efficiently integrate freight into land-use planning, getting recommendations on how to strategically allocate land uses for more efficient urban freight distribution and determining the logistics solutions to be implemented in different city areas. UNCHAIN will integrate and process inputs from literature review, freight generation models, and co-creation processes to define new land uses and propose the optimum mix of residential, commercial, leisure, and industrial space to reach sustainable mobility patterns, determining how land use can optimize not only today but also future logistics processes. Visual representation of the defined solutions per city area is also delivered to guide urban planners in implementing these solutions in their own cities.
