The UNCHAIN team gathered on the 26th and 27th of September in Berlin, one of the Living Labs of tour beloved project. Two-days filled with productive discussions on the project’s progress as we are heading into our large-scale demonstration phase.

The General Assembly was launched by a welcoming speech delivered by Katharina Kroger (Head of Division, Mobility Policy, and Transport Development Planning), who welcomed us in the beautiful Senate amenities.

Our coordinator, Elena Garcia (ETRA), launched the meeting with important reminders about the project’s progress and upcoming deliverables. The morning was then dedicated to exchanges between the developers (VMZ, Municipia, ETRA, IBV)  and the UNCHAIN cities (Berlin, Florence, Riga, Prague, Mechelen, Funchal). Daniel Villalobos (ETRA) presented the deployment status of the project’s dashboard and data connectors, allowing all cities to upload their data on the main UNCHAIN platform. The cities could then gather in a workshop to discuss their use of the KER, and the services deployed within the project. The meetings of day 1 ended with a SWOT exercise to assess the development of all services, led by SPES consulting.

In the afternoon, the consortium enjoyed a cruise on the Spree to discover the city and especially the Westhafen logistic harbor, managed by Behala. This visit gave us a deep understanding of Berlin’s urban planning and logistics thanks to the insightful comments of Dr. Julius Menge.

The second day was dedicated to the presentation of WP6 on impact assessment, led by the University of Lancaster, WP7 on the business innovation and go-to-market strategy led by SPES consulting and WP8 on communication and dissemination, led by POLIS and EIT Urban Mobility. This presentation allowed the presentation of the Knowledge Powerhouse (KER7), a content repository that will be published on the UNCHAIN website and filled throughout the project.

The General Assembly ended on a high note with the consortium partners climbing up to the very top of the famous Berlin city tower, indisputable proof that in the UNCHAIN project, the sky is the limit!
