The UNCHAIN project has reached yet another milestone with the successful kick-off of Work Package 6 (WP6), titled “Large-scale Demonstration in the Demo Sites, Evaluation, and Impact Assessment”. The start of the work under this WP signals a transition into a new era for the project. These activities are officially underway after 18 months of preparation for large-scale pilot demonstrations.

The kick-off was led by WP6 leader VMZ, and ULANC, with all technical partners and the participating UNCHAIN cities present. The primary focus of WP6 is to deploy, test, and assess the UNCHAIN services across various demonstration sites. This includes synchronizing co-creation efforts, such as the SUMP and SULP definition tool, as well as evaluating the impact of UNCHAIN’s sustainable urban logistics solutions through defined KPIs.

There are already two key tasks running related to Living Lab preparation and cross-site evaluation methodology. To ensure the proper functioning of the demonstrations, the technical partners and demo cities are going to develop Living Lab activity plans in the upcoming period.

With the official launch of the large-scale demonstrations, UNCHAIN is set to provide valuable insights into sustainable urban logistics, fostering innovation and creating the way for future replication and scaling efforts in WP7 and WP8.
