Thessaloniki, September 2026
The CIVITAS Forum 2026, organised by the CIVITAS Initiative, took place in Thessaloniki (Greece) from 15 to 17 September 2026. Over three days, mobility stakeholders from all over Europe came together and explored how to turn sustainable mobility ambitions into actions.
UNCHAIN was present at the Thematic Corner of the ‘Urban Freight & Logistics’ cluster alongside the projects DISCO, GreenTurn, CodeZERO, NEXTLOGIC, and FOREMAST. This was a valuable opportunity to meet peers and exchange ideas on how to make urban logistics more efficient, sustainable, and integrated into city life.
The project results were also featured at the side event ‘City–Innovation Partnerships in Action: From Research to Urban Logistics Transformation in Thessaloniki‘ on 17 September, organised by the projects DISCO and MED COLOURS. Raffaele Vergnani, Urban Freight Cluster Lead at POLIS. Drawing on experiences and results from the projects DISCO, MED COLOURS, Shift2Zero, CodeZero and UNCHAIN, the workshop explored how research and innovation projects translate into practical urban logistics solutions through collaboration among cities, research organisations, and local stakeholders.
EMT Madrid, one of the key partners, took part in the session ‘Urban Freight Data Connectivity and System Operations: From Data Sharing to Measurable Outcomes‘ on 16 September, addressing the lessons learnt throughout the UNCHAIN project. The session focused on data connectivity and the operations of urban freight transport systems.
