Our beloved “Follower City”, Mechelen, recently gave a Testimonial to the National Contact Point Flanders about their participation in the UNCHAIN project.
National Contact Points (NCPs) are essential support structures established by EU Member States and Associated Countries to help stakeholders access opportunities within the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes. In Belgium, NCPs are organized regionally, and NCP Flanders provides free guidance to enterprises, research institutions, and public bodies in Flanders and Flemish organizations based in Belgium. Their services include navigating EU funding, legal and financial advice, and support for preparing project proposals.
The city of Mechelen recently shared its testimonial with NCP Flanders, emphasizing the value of participating in the UNCHAIN project. As a Follower City, Mechelen plays a key role in the project, learning from and building on other cities’ innovative urban logistics solutions. The city’s commitment to sustainable freight transport and urban logistics innovation makes it an important part of the UNCHAIN community.
We are delighted to have Mechelen on board as they exemplify how smaller cities can act as dynamic hubs for logistics innovation. Their proactive approach to addressing urban freight challenges is a testament to their forward-thinking mindset and dedication to sustainability.
Mechelen’s testimonial underscores the importance of the support provided by NCP Flanders in helping cities and organizations like theirs engage in European-funded projects. Through this collaboration, Mechelen not only access the tools and networks required to participate in UNCHAIN but also showcased how regional and European cooperation can foster meaningful urban innovation.
