UNCHAIN meets with metaCCAZE

23 October 2024 – Our coordinator, ETRA, with project partner Madrid City Council, held a productive meeting with representatives from the metaCCAZE project. The discussion focused on the distinct approaches each initiative takes toward curbside management, highlighting the innovative strategies and tools being developed to enhance urban mobility.

The UNCHAIN coordinator, ETRA, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council, met with representatives from the metaCCAZE project, which includes Munich as a participating city. This productive meeting, attended by Annika Paul and Santiago Álvarez-Ossorio from Landeshauptstadt München, focused on sharing expertise and insights regarding Dynamic Curbside Management, a key aspect of UNCHAIN’s KER8 initiative.

During the initial phase, ETRA provided a comprehensive introduction to the UNCHAIN project, followed by a presentation from the metaCCAZE team on their project goals and objectives. The discussion revealed that while both projects develop similar curbside management tools, they have distinct approaches. MetaCCAZE aims to create a booking system integrated with underground sensors to monitor curbside occupancy, while UNCHAIN focuses on defining usage and time allocation based on real-time data collected from our pilot areas.

Although the two initiatives differ in their primary focus – metaCCAZE on zero emissions and UNCHAIN on logistics and service efficiency – they share a common goal of fostering more citizen-friendly urban environments. This collaboration underscores the importance of knowledge exchange in driving sustainable urban mobility solutions. We are always happy to come together with other amazing projects to support each other and drive sustainability forward together!

metaCCAZE is focused on developing scalable, resilient technological solutions that integrate electrification, automation, and connectivity into urban transport systems.
